I had a couple of days this week between apartment rentals in Austin, so I drove down to San Antonio and stayed at a hotel a block from the Alamo and two blocks from The San Antonio River Walk.
I’m really enjoying Austin and have settled into my final destination during my trip here: a fairly new apartment on the north side, with a king-sized adjustable bed, balcony, and an outdoor pool downstairs. This complex is mostly young professionals, so there are plenty of community lounging spaces to work from home.
Knowing I had a couple of days’ gap between rentals, I decided a road trip to San Antonio would be fun. It’s only 90 minutes from Austin, after all. I stayed at a Hampton Inn and was able to keep my car parked in their secured lot for two nights while I explored the Alamo and The San Antonio River Walk areas.
I was extremely happy there was full sun during my visit! It’s been mostly overcast for the past month in central Texas, which is not typical. Everything is very lush and green though, so it’s hard to complain. Long periods of clouds in the sky make it feel like I have clouds in my brain—and I get a little sad—so I’m happy the sun returned for a bit. (We’re back to overcast skies and rain in the forecast for later today.)
Here’s a photo gallery of favorites from my quick road trip to San Antonio. Enjoy!
